I thought that today workshop was very insightful, especially in how useful del.icio.us is.

I was impressed with the kidzone website (which is on my del.icio.us account). It was child friendly and the script (for info on penguins) was well-organized which makes it easy for students to pull out important facts. It was also supported by photos which enable English Language Learners to stay focused.

Digital media supports my lessons by providing me alternative ways to reach the kids that might be otherwise unreachable, and also kids that are already getting it will benefit as well. Hit them from all angles.

This is a website that lets kids create their own food chains.
Digital media will engage learners by exposing them to the information in different ways to hopefully hit one of their learning styles.

Todays workshop was very productful as we reflected on the framework of UDL and how to apply it in our teaching.
One of the websites that was a great resource to help our students work with geometical shapes was Illusions.com because it allows students to manipulate shapes and construct polygons.

I found a neat website – Language is a Virus (http://www.languageisavirus.com/)- that I posted at my delicious (http://del.icio.us/ldarmstadt). It provides all kinds of information for writers – including picture/poem prompts, writers’ bios, etc.

The most useful tool we saw today for me is the del.icio.us tool. An example is the food chain interactive web site. I can use this with a second grade class in a study of the African savannah.

I think digital media can support teaching, learning and assessment because we can provide our students with different tools and resources to meet their specific needs.
In today’s session we learn how to use del.icio.us and I think is amazing the amount of digital media you can use in your classroom.

Digital media is a great tool to explore, I was able to incorporate my p.p.p. into the site. It was easy to navigate using the tools we worked. I used a lot of p.p. to present the classes. By putting the p.p. into del.icio.us it will make much easier and interactive for the teacher and the students. Digital medial will engage the students because it is visual and interactive way of instruction that can accommodate different learning styles learnes.

I enjoyed having an application to begin to apply all of the tools and knowledge we have learned in class today. I can see a definite extension to my teaching tools. I enjoy creating my delicious website. I can see the need for at least 2 different delicious websites one for students and parents and one for teachers. The digital media is a nice way to support learning for all students from G&T to those with identified special needs. This is a way to engage all students using text, images, and sound. In this digital age these tools will be an assest to support all leaners.

Del.icio.us is more than delicious. Any lesson can be easily extended to reach every learner in the classroom. As a tool, it provides support to students in text, image and speech format.
